Usually, there is a medication that will help. He/she may also be able to help you make some other changes that may work: diet, lifestyle, exercise, etc.I also believe prayer works . . . but we are also expected to use the obvious means of help that are available to us . . . doctors, etc.Best wishes to you, and do what you need to do.

There are so many reasons that can cause raised blood pressure, for e.g. working out, climbing up the stairs, walking at fast pace or even being nervous about your blood pressure! It is called the 'white coat effect'. That is why, if you're suspected to have high blood pressure, the GP or doctor will take your blood pressure reading on three separate occasions and you're advised to be there early and settle down so that you wont be nervous or tired for your blood pressure measurement.If your blood pressure still remains high after the third reading, the doctor will suggest lifestyle changes, like diet, exercise, smoking cessation etc, before using the medicine. If you can change your lifestyle, there's a big possibility for your blood pressure to improve (i.e. reduced) and you might not even need medicine.So yes, pray if you want ( I don't see any reason why! not ) but don't be too disheartened because it is not the end of the w! orld. But it is a very good start to improve lifestyle before other cardiac problem can arise for e.g. stroke or heart failure. Good luck!

Hugo Pittari: I had NO breakfast or Lunch [ i have a reasonable excuse unfortunately :/ ] so here's what i had today-came home from school- 1/2 a GUTTED Whole Wheat Bagel [Gutted = No Dough inside] & filled the bagel with veggies DINNER----Pasta Fagioli [Pasta Fazul, i had Whole Wheat Rigatoni with Cannellini Beans & Tomato Sauce, my mom made it]-1 bowl of lettuce [no dressing, except i put honey mustard on it] -Cauliflower Potato substitute[Blended up Cauliflower with 1/2 cup of skim milk, tastes just like Mashed Potatoes but healthier]-Mixed Vegetables [Broccoli, Sweet Peas, Carrots, Green Beans, Cauliflower]& later on at around 9/9:30 i was gonna have a slice of ! my personal Homeade FAT FREE/SUGAR FREE Pumpkin Pie! Yes, there is such a thing, here's the recipe-2 cups of 100% pumpkin puree1/4 cup of stevia (or truvia)4 egg whites (equal to 1/2 cup of liquid egg whites)1 cup of skim milk 1/2 tbsp. of cinnamon or nutmeg1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (or vanilla extract) i used protein powderOR i could just make for dessert instead of the pumpkin pie, a homeade Banana Ice Cream. All it is is a Cut up Frozen Banana Blended, thats it lol
Hunter Osterberger: thats a strange combination of foods O.otheres other options like not skipping breakfast, if u have breakfast atleast have -cereal (ur favorite -cereal plz)-or pancakes with bacon and sausage-french toast with bacon and sausage-scrammbled eggs (or however u like it) with bacon and sausageIdk about lunch, i guess -hot dogs-hamburgers-sandwhich (any kind)-eat out, idkdinner is dinner, even if its like a breakfast, just make sure ur diet isnt really bad for u or upsets ur stomac! h!

Coleman Senn: How tall are you? A lot of it depends on your metabolism (sp?) and how much you get your heart rate up while your exercising. It's really hard for anybody to guess how long. Try it for a 2 week period and then weigh yourself. Then you will ahve an idea about how long it will take you- as long as you stick with it. Don't get too skinny- that doesn't look very good.BTW- It takes longer for girls to lose it then it does for boys :)
