Elvin Mannheimer: You did say your oil pan was damaged. A new oil pan will cost 100-400 for the part only from the dealer, depending on make and model. As for the rest of the repairs to the engine, I can't think of anything that would cost less than 700$ due to running it without oil. So bad deal. More info is needed tho.
Linwood Mccory: do you drive a ferrari or a kia, what are you 5 years old, how could anyone answer that question. Your wasting your cash-engine is junk, it may run fine when you get it back, but it won't for long--sell it asap
Lu Tiner: I would recommend buying a used engine that has a warranty, they run for about $800 and have under $60k miles on them.You would be taking a chance on the repair. When that Engine Oil Light comes on, we call that an Idi! ot Light (not you being one), just means there is no oil at all. The cam surfaces, all the bearings, piston bores, and all that need oil or it will scratch and wear it down fast.All they want is money, but you will be the one driving this....Show more

Derick Kinnard: ask the guy what the 700 are for. but need more info like what the engine sounds like? how far was the trip home? for the most part just make sure your mechanic know what hes talking about and dont be shy ask questions. last ask for a list of the parts that need to be replaced that way you know whats going to be changed
