Antone Youla: Yes you are"kinda freaked out". You are ALREADY legally married, the ceremony is only symbolic! But back to your car Insurance question, if you are still living with your parents the policy does not need to be changed. If you and your new husband are living elsewhere you need to notify the Insurance of the new address and your marriage status and pay any differential in the premium. Good Luck
Oscar Waddups: Calvin C would be right, except that the correct premiums are NOT being paid. The premiums that are being paid would be correct if you were single. The premiums for a married person are different than the premiums for a single person, so the premiums being paid are not correct.
Lita Thammorongsa: 1
Madie Strople: Not at all. Your marriage doesn't affect their car insurance. And, there's no "they can't take me off" bit. They don't need a reason to take you off, just a phone call. Yes, your married daughter can be on your car ! insurance.Keep in mind, if husband drives a vehicle owned by mom or dad, he, also, must be listed as a driver on the policy....Show more
Len Dalba: You need to speak to the insurance agent as soon as possible about this situation. Generally, married children will need their own auto insurance policy, and are not to be on their parents' policy. You are now married. It makes no difference when your ceremony is held, or whether you told your parents about this. You ARE legally married. If you are not to be covered on your parents' policy, it makes no difference when you tell them, paid in advance or NOT.
Lynn Melbourne: the insurance company does not have spies out there looking to see who is married. you are fine anyone can add anyone to their policy so long as the correct insurance premiums are paid. So if I wanted to add you to my policy but you were driving in Manhattan I would have to have a policy that covered that area not just say boondocks NB
