Maynard Phoubandith: Hello,1) In the west with 50% failure rates in our marriages we can ill afford to be critical of other systems like arranged marriage.2) In an arranged marriage the blind emotion and thinking with your parts rather than your head is eliminated. People are matched by an outside party who can see if they have compatible personalities and tempraments, similar interests, same educational levels and economic backgrounds. Far more often than not I have seen these arranged marriages work out.The only down side is that sometimes the person on either side is a real dragon as far as looks goes which is an important factor to many younger people. Also in some cultures this child bride arranged marriage is quite dreadful but I see Egypt for starters is clamping down on that.Cheers,Michael Kelly...Show more
Brian M! arquina: marriage comes first, and then you learn to love.it take the hassle out of finding the "one" if your parents are trying you for an arranged marriage then obviously your from a culture where marriage is held in high regards and have traditional views on how a wife and husband should be.then again you can reject a candidate your parents may have for you....Show more
