Rat toys and entertaining...SHTUFF?

Dick Maisenbacher: What i give my rats are bird toys, simple wooden and rope ones, they love them especially when they have bells, avoid ones with bird vitamins on it. My male rat loves different types of balls like tennis balls and baseballs. If they are super bored, boil an egg and give it to them unpeeled and let them figure out how to open it :) Other simple things i give them is a small sock with peas in it with the end tied and again let them chew it open. I also give them lots of fleece in there cage and let them make a mess of it and napkins to shred. when i am home i give them a semi deep bowl of water and let them fish peas out of it :) I will sometimes take to medium sized squares and i sew three sides together and fill it with uncooked rice or other edible stuff like uncooked beans and sew the forth side and let them have it as a been bag :D my rats love it.I give my rats Alfalfa blocks and let them chew them up. It helps with there teeth and they like them. A! great toy is a pine cone filled with peanut butter or other edible cream like substance for rats, All you have to do is find a pine cone and freeze it to get rid of mites, once you do that you tie a thick string to the end and smear the peanut butter on it and hang it in there cage so its a challenge to get the food and it ll keep them entertained for hours :)I hope this helps....Show more

Luis Mellon: You could get a hide house, or maybe a wheel for them to run on, i like how you called them "little poopers" lol http://www.dapper.com.au/toys.htm

Tyree Allenbrand: the first-class "toy" for a rat is you. Or a pal rattie. If you're concerned that she is bored or if she demands to deplete vigour, allow her roam round a reliable room like a rest room. Rats want no less than one hour out of cage play time an afternoon. Preferably with you. You too can check out purchasing rat treats in fit to be eaten programs. I deliver my rats youngsters measurement bins of cerea! l nonetheless closed, however take the bag aspect out first. T! his means they need to paintings for his or her meals. Your rat will need to work out tips on how to open the field to get the meals. I nonetheless deliver them their meals bowl stuffed with direction lol....Show more

King Bringle: Oh yes! I also have a wheel and a hide house and a hamock! and a climbing rope!

Magda Vandergriend: There are a lot of ideas at this site http://www.dapper.com.au/toys.htm and this one as well http://www.ratsauce.com/toys_games/index.php There's also games you can play with them on those sites :3Try going to the bird section in the pet store. I went and I picked up a climbing rope (which I see you already have) perches, and ladders. They love the ladders, and it's quite entertaining to watch them go up and down. You could also check out the reptile section for neat little hideouts. I actually bought one for my rats about a month ago, picked it up for $15 and it was worth it, they're always in it!Honestly, rats like chewing on anything! . I just take a toilet paper roll and put in in their cage lol. Sounds stupid, but they love chewing on it! And to add a little more fun, put some treats into some tissue paper, roll it up and put it in the tube, then close the tubes sides. Hang it if you want, I just put it on the floor and they chew right through it to get the delicious treats! The pine cone thing sounds like a cool idea, but NEVER give your rats peanut butter!! They can easily choke on it because it's so sticky, and they can't regurgitate it so they would likely die.Oh, pick up a nylabone at your local pet store! I got one for puppies, chicken flavoured I believe, and the rats ate that in a jiffy. I hung it up in their cage and they were fighting over it. Try to put it just out of their reach so they get some exercises and it keeps them entertained. But try those websites, some really good ideas in there. Have fun :)...Show more
